Akupara Games | 2025 Recap

With 2025 coming to a close I want to go back and highlight some of the developments made this year! First up, we updated our developer map where the different developers from games we’ve published are situated. We have developers in 5 out of the 7 continents! I’m still waiting for the penguins to develop a game in Antarctica so we can publish it!

We have a loooooong list of different publishing, merch, awards, and other events we have done this year! It’s the longest list of things we have ever had for one year on our timeline!

If that is a little too much reading, don’t worry I understand! Here is a little bit of a compressed version to make it easier to digest!

Thank you everyone for your support! 2026 is going to be another awesome year!

The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon | Game Reveal

Alright, now back to our regularly scheduled games in the dev log!

We revealed the 3rd Darkside Detective game coming to the series, The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon in the Unity Awards!

For those who don’t know the Darkside Detective series, Detective McQueen and Officer Dooley solve strange and unusual mysteries in Twin Lakes. From Ghosts to Santa to prehistoric birds, you might not be surprised to learn– they have a lot on their plate!

The Darkside Detective: Backside of the Moon brings six new mind-melting cases to the mix where Detective McQueen and Officer Dooley might have to get a bit serious. Like 1% serious. .1% serious? .01% serious?

Werewolves, cursed items, awry rituals, treasure hunts, and perhaps the most terrifying monster of all – rich people – will put our pixelated heroes to the test but with your help, they might come out on top.

Airframe Ultra | Beta 4

The week before the holidays started we opened up the tracks for the Airframe Ultra community to spill blood of their rivals and burn rubber while racing across the new Estate track. We had over 1,800 participants sign up with over 700 of them sending us feedback. The team will go through all this feedback and I’ll write a detailed report on what we saw and learned from the community in January.

For those of you who’ve had fun streaming or making videos out of Airframe Ultra, please know that Buddy promised a community clip trailer soon! More details in, you guessed it: the Airframe Ultra Discord!

Here are the full patch notes!

I talked with Jack on the update and how they have been handling GIGASWORD since the release last month!

Hi there Giga-Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I’ve spent the last few weeks finally catching up on some sleep after the craziness of GIGASWORD’s release. Speaking of which: I’ve got some exciting news to share!

Fast travel has been added to GIGASWORD! This has been the most requested feature since release, and now it’s yours to enjoy. Along with the ability to warp around the Nestrium, this new update contains plenty of other changes as well, such as numerous bug fixes, enemy tweaks, and puzzle-room alterations to address certain softlock situations.

Overall, GIGASWORD is now the most stable it’s ever been, and we owe that to you, the players. I can’t thank you guys enough for your consistent feedback and detailed bug reports; it’s been a tremendous help to the cause.

For those of you who would like to go the extra mile and help out GIGASWORD even more, I have one simple request: please consider leaving a review on Steam! The more reviews we can collect, the more visibility the game will get on the storepage. You can write as much or as little as you want; from a whole fleshed-out analysis to a simple “I like this game” comment. Every review goes a long way!

Okay, that’s all I’ve got for this time! There’s more GIGASWORD content on the way, so stay tuned!

If you want to see what Jack has been cooking up, then I would suggest joining the GIGASWORD Discord!
