MIX Next Publisher Spotlight is a special section of a digital game showcase where different developer teams can reveal new announcements, gameplay, trailers and more! We were honored to be one of the few publishers that got to participate in MIX Next Publisher Spotlight!
We showcased Astrea, Darkside Detective: Fumble in the Dark, Kardboard Kings, Grime, and Rain World!
During the spotlight we also announced a new game coming to the Akupara Games family, Sorry We’re Closed!
Astrea: Six Sided Oracles
My good friend Buddy went into a deeper dive with Cellarius, the second of six playable oracles! Cellarius is a heavy hitting berserker, dealing tons of purification but in return taking a lot of corruption as well. Managing that damage taken is the key to success with Cellarius. Astrea demo is available on Steam until November 3rd so be sure to get your dice ready to try out Cellarius.
Darkside Detective: Fumble in the Dark
The final case is now available for you to enjoy! This one case is actually three mini cases back to back where you’ll join the fan favorite side characters to solve the mysteries of Twin Lake! Will the Bloodwolves, the Brightside Division, and Rexa each solve their cases and save Twin Lake?
Kardboard Kings
I’m excited to announce that we have another major content update coming called Card Game Island. In this update you’ll actually play the card game and face off against other characters by buying a plane ticket to Card Game Island! I’ll go deeper into the card game in the future.
Also coming in the Card Game Island update is a new hard mode appropriately named King of Games. You’ll need to be a king at Kardboard Kings to not close down shop. Each day your reputation takes a small hit, you pay taxes every week, and more. While each small little thing doesn’t do too much but together makes the game that much harder.
GRIME
The new GRIME update is called GRIME: Colors of Rot! With new enemies, weapons, areas, bosses, and more there is so much content coming with Colors of Rot. And amazingly all for free! Clover Bit has been teasing and tweeting out little hints at the update for months now, and we can’t wait to get it to you.
We’re also officially announcing GRIME ports for the Xbox and Playstation. It’s long been in the running that GRIME will be coming to Switch but so many Xbox and Playstation fans have asked us to port it there, too, we figured we’d add it to the list.

Rain World
From one exciting DLC to the next, Rain World: Downpour has a release date! Downpour will be launching on PC **January 19th!** We’ll have console news soon about Downpour. With new rooms, regions, story, and mysteries, I’m excited to see the new slugcats reaching your hands soon so you can traverse through the new lands and discover what Rain World: Downpour has to offer.
Sorry We’re Closed
And last but for sure not least, Akupara is publishing Sorry We’re Closed, a nostalgic single player survival horror game with rich lore and character interactions that allow multiple endings. Can Michelle solve the mysteries surrounding her curse and learn what she can do to not succumb to it?
