When did you first get started in games and how?

I first got into games playing NES with my dad and brothers when I was 5.  My favorite game was Double Dragon; I’d play it with my dad for hours!  I also was obsessed with the Bust-A-Move stand up arcade game at the local nickel arcade, and would spend as much time as I could eating pizza and convincing people to challenge me.  I started getting into game development in middle school, when I figured out how to use a hex editor to create new breeds for the game Petz.

What has been your favorite project to work on?

My favorite project to work on so far has been TRUNDL.buddy.  The team was amazing to work with, and so talented.  I can’t wait to play it!

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I’m inspired by the people I’ve worked and volunteered with throughout my life who have shared their passions with me.  I aspire to be as caring and influential as my mentors who have taken the time to guide me throughout my career.

What is your favorite video game or series?

My favorite game of all time is EarthBound.  I rented it out so many times as a kid from the local video store that they gave it to me when the store was bought out, it even had the scratch and sniff stickers still!

What is your favorite tabletop game?

Lords of Waterdeep is my favorite tabletop game, but it’s hard to find people to play it!

If Akupara could partner with any person, who would you want to work with?

I’d love to work with Tim Schafer and Dave Grossman. Day of the Tentacle and the other LucasArts games are some of my favorites of all time, and I would love a chance to pick their brains and make a game with that same quirky sense of humor.

What is your proudest accomplishment with Akupara?

After years of managing software releases, finally getting to produce my first game.  Akupara has made a dream come true for me, and I’m so excited to release even more awesome games this year!
